The mast makes the lift truck a “lift truck”: supporting, raising, lowering and tilting the load. A mast must be rigid enough to resist twisting caused by the motion of the truck, or by the effects of off-center loading. At the same time, it must raise and lower smoothly and quickly with minimum power consumption. The industry proven Yale mast includes rolled steel channels for high strength, canted load rollers for extra support during lifting and lowering, and chrome plated cylinder rods for corrosion resistance.
Roller Bearings: - Canted design – resists forward, rearward and lateral forces, improving mast rigidity
- Full-face contact between roller & channel for increased roller life
Lift Cylinders: - Hydraulic cushioning when lowering provides less product damage & cylinder wear
- Chrome-plated cylinder rods protect against corrosion & scoring
Channels: - Rolled steel construction for durability & resistance to wear
- Variable channel overlap minimizes mast deflection and sway
Crossmembers: - Cast steel construction (up to 12,000 lb capacity units) provide outstanding strength and rigidity
- Integrated brackets provide single-piece integrity
