Yale® Veracitor Engines are Leaders in Lower Total Emissions
Environmentally Trustworthy engines are certified at levels better than the 2007 emissions standards of the EPA and CARB
 

GREENVILLE, NC, May 8, 2007–Yale Materials Handling Corporation, in full compliance with EPA and California standards, offers their customers the lift truck series rated among the cleanest engines in the industry in terms of lower total emissions– the Veracitor™ VX. In regulating emissions to promote clean air, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) limit the level of total engine exhaust emissions from lift trucks.

“Yale’s introduction of the Veracitor™ VX lift truck product line transformed and enriched the materials handling segment of our customers’ businesses,” said Don Chance, president. “Now the Yale® Veracitor series has cleaner engines, too. They perform better than the competition in total carbon monoxide emissions. These trucks have set the Environmentally Trustworthy standard for the industry.”

The Yale Veracitor engines are among the cleanest forklift engines available. Exhaust emissions are defined and measured by the amount of HC+NOx (hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen) and CO (carbon monoxide) a truck emits. In 2007, EPA and CARB further reduced the allowable emissions levels of these gases; regulations require that the engine meets the emissions levels with proper maintenance.

The Yale Veracitor™ GM 2.4L engine has a 0.3 HC+NOx level and a 2.2 CO level; it is an engine that meets the emissions standards set for 2010. The Veracitor™ Mazda 2.0L and 2.2L engines are certified at levels better than the 2007 Emissions Standard in both HC+NOx and CO, and are second in the lift truck marketplace only to the Yale Veracitor™ GM engine in lower CO emissions as ranked by the CARB. A lower number means cleaner exhaust emissions.
